THREE COLD DISHES

About this book

About Three Cold Dishes What if the best ideas in your school came from children everyone thought were too young to be heard? At Hope Primary School, Tobi and his friends discover a mysterious secret hidden beneath an ancient mango tree: three forgotten “cold dishes” containing ideas created by children thirty years ago. As the school prepares to cut down the tree, the friends race against time to uncover the truth behind the hidden ideas. Along the way, they discover an old rainwater design, a yellow bench created so no child has to sit alone, and a secret that connects the past to the school’s present. But finding the ideas is only the beginning. The children must convince the adults around them that their ideas deserve to be heard. Three Cold Dishes is a warm, adventurous middle-grade story about friendship, courage, imagination, belonging, and the power of believing in children. Because sometimes, a child’s idea is not too small. Sometimes, it is simply waiting for the right people to listen.
